Information on nose surgery

Nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, involves reshaping the nose and correcting any bumps or indentations. The procedure can vary depending on the patient's desired results. Typically, incisions are made on the inside of the nasal cavity so the marks are invisible after surgery. Furthermore, bone or cartilage may be removed or added depending on shape of the nose the patient wants. At this point, the surgeon will reshape and rearrange the structure and then place the skin and tissue back and suture the area. Once the nose surgery is finished, a splint is placed on the outside to provide support during the healing process. In addition, nasal packing may be used inside for further support. This can be an outpatient procedure but often requires an overnight stay. Consult your physician before deciding on this particular operation.
